  1. Water Survey mark 125th anniversary

    The Illinois State Water Survey has been a leader in the study of water, weather, and climate since 1895. To mark its 125th anniversary, the Water Survey will present a free seminar on water and weather in Illinois, including how climate change will affect Illinois communities, flood risk, long-term sediment trends, and the Mahomet aquifer. There will be a poster session & refreshments.

  2. Presentation to regional green team and RPC members

    Sole Source Aquifer  designation process and impacts presented by Wehrmann and Adams.   The University's drinking water comes from this aquifer, and there are no other viable options for drinking water supply. Many local residents understand how lucky we are to have excellent clean water available from this underground glacial aquifer, but the constantly new population on campus needs to be informed. This presentation showed details of the existing aquifer outline, users, and the results of the search for alternative water sources, which proved this aquifer is our ONLY water source.
