Project Description
2012 Exterior Doorway LED Lighting

Exterior lighting was installed at multiple locations in 2012, with more locations planned for the future. LED fixtures to increase illumination around doorways are installed at Talbot Lab, the Computer Applications Building, Roger Adams Lab, and the Vivarium. Entry canopy lighting at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) and Allen Hall are also upgraded to LED fixtures.

ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit

The ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit was the second round of the T-12 to T-8 Lighting Retrofit Project. A total of 33,192 T-12 fixtures were replaced with thinner, more energy effiecient T-8 fixtures. This will incur a total Annual KWh  Savings of 5,335,909 hours. Thirty university buildings were involved in this round of the project. The total Simple Payback is estimated to be 1.17.

Project Updates

  • 4/15/2011

    As part of the ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit, 177 T-12 fixtures in the Abbott Power Plant were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 27,909 hours.

    As part of the ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit, 858 T-12 fixtures in the David Kinley Hall were replaced with the more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 84,223 hours.
