Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) |

Public Transportation Innovation |
This program provides funding to develop innovative products and services assisting transit agencies in better meeting the needs of their customers. |
Zero Emissions Research Opportunity |
This program provides funding to conduct research, demonstrations, testing, and evaluation of zero emission and related technology for public transportation applications. |
Transit Cooperative Research Program - 5312(i) |
The Transit Cooperative Research Program is an applied, contract research program that develops near-term, practical solutions to problems facing transit agencies. |
Low and No-Emission Component Assessment Program (LoNo-CAP) |
This program provides dunding to conduct testing, evaluation, and analysis of low or no emission (LoNo) components intended for use in LoNo transit buses used to provide public transportation. |
Bus and Bus Facilities Program |
The Buses and Bus Related Equipment and Facilities program provides capital assistance for new and replacement buses, related equipment, and facilities. |
Encourage Train Travel for Business Trips |
Amtrak is a great way to travel long distances. Business travel can be accomplished via train, rather than by plane or personal vehicle. This allows a much lower emissions level per trip, and it is a relaxing option for travel. Business trips by train are also opportunities to relax or work during the trip, with plenty of space and few distractions. |
Encourage Use of Intercity Buses |
Illinois Terminal (45 E. University Ave., Champaign) provides a central transfer point for the local MTD bus service, intercity buses, and Amtrak train service. Greyhound, Burlington Trailways, Lex Express, Illini Express, and Megabus provide bus service to other cities from the Terminal. |
Encourage Train Travel for Personal Trips |
The University works with Amtrak to provide train schedules at various locations throughout campus. |
Increase Amtrak Use |
Train travel is an excellent way to go long distances. With the convenient location of the train station in downtown Champaign at the Illinoii Terminal, many people on campus use Amtrak to go to Chicago, St. Louis, or other destinations. |
Support Zipcar in Champaign-Urbana |

Since 2010, MTD, Urbana, Champaign, and the U of I have partnered with Zipcar to bring self-service, on-demand car sharing to the area.
